As you stand on the brink of an incredible achievement, I just wanted to take a moment to say how deeply proud I am of each and every one of you.
Training for the London Marathon is no small feat. It takes an enormous amount of dedication, discipline, and, often, sacrifice. Early mornings, long solo runs in the wind and rain , missing out on social events, juggling family, work, and training — it's a journey that demands everything and gives little back - until this moment.
Now, here you are, ready to take on one of the most iconic marathons in the world.
As I’ve said so may time over the past few months in webinars, training days and in videos in the App video Library - the journey to the start line is often harder than the race itself.
You’ve fought through self-doubt, battled injuries and setbacks, and kept moving forward when it would have been easier to give up. Every mile you've logged (on strava), every moment of doubt you have overcome, every blister, every ache, every foam rolling session — they have all led you to this point.
On marathon day, I encourage you to embrace and cherish every single moment.
Feel the buzz of the crowd. Soak in the sights of London as you run through its historic streets. Smile at the cheers, the music, the high-fives from strangers. This is your reward for every early alarm, every rainy run, every ounce of effort you've poured into this goal.
Most of all, be proud. You've already achieved something extraordinary by getting to the start line. The finish line is just the cherry on top.
Thank you for putting your faith in me to help guide your marathon journey. I truly hope the advice and support I’ve shared has made a difference and helped you to arrive at this incredible moment stronger and more confident.
I'm excited to share that my next marathon training book will be released next year — so keep an eye out for that if you're already thinking about future running adventures!
Finally, if you'd like to let me know how you found the support or simply share a piece of your marathon story, I'd love to hear from you. Feel free to drop me a message at support@ghtraining.co.uk
Good luck, run proud, and most importantly — enjoy every step.
You've already made your Charity - and GH Training- incredibly proud.
You’re all amazing.
