Marathon training throws up questions. Loads of them.
Some big, some small, and some that hit you five minutes before you’re about to head out the door for a run.
The new GH Training WhatsApp support service will give runners direct access to practical, straight-talking advice throughout their training, so they’re not left second-guessing things like pacing, fuelling, niggles, recovery or whether they'’re actually doing the right thing.
It’s not a group chat - and in case you were wondering - it’s definitely not a chatbot. It’s a one-to-one support service designed to sit alongside and compliment the GH Training App and other support resources.
So how does it work? Seamlessly is the answer.
When a question pops up before, during or after training, runners ask it and I’ll reply as soon as I can within the support hours. Support hours are open on Mondays and Thursdays, so on those days all questions will be answered straight away.
Outside of office hours, runners will still be supported. As the video shows, they'll be directed to a dedicated page on the GH Training website that covers the most common training, fuelling and injury questions.
Where appropriate, runners will be directed to relevant videos or resources in the GH Training app or on the website — so they're not just getting a "short and shallow" answer, but additional and complimentary advice to their initial query.
